In 2003, Father Jim Mifsud and a few dads from Queen of Apostles school put together the 1st golf tournament as a community event. Community events are meant to bring together members of our church, school, and their families and friends.
In 2011, we decided to dedicate the tournament to Father Jim’s memory and renamed it “The Father Jim Mifsud Memorial Tournament”. Father Jim’s “Never Give Up” motto is the attitude with which we started the tournament and the reason why we work so hard to make a successful and fun tournament each year.
All proceeds from the tournament go toward the Father Jim Mifsud Scholarship Fund. Father Jim supported families in our community spiritually, emotionally, and even financially. He started to provide assistance to families who could not afford the full tuition to Queen of Apostles or sometimes provided a little financial boost for uniforms and supplies. In his memory, we continue this scholarship and his work – helping students develop and flourish in our Catholic school.
